OneHome · Overview Effect

Fall in love with Earth

In Shadows and Lights (Blue Century II), Paul Gardner dreams of a satellite at Lagrange point L1, filming the whole Earth so that everyone can experience the overview effect. OneHome, the NGO founded and chaired by Jean-Pierre Goux, made that dream real using images from NASA's DSCOVR satellite, taken 1.5 million kilometres away.

Now it's your turn: experience the overview effect by watching one of the five videos below. The rest are on onehome.org.

Dr Jane Goodall, on full-Earth DSCOVR footage. Subtitles in 15 languages.
